Summary Paragraph(s)
In Chicago SD 229 the low income percentage is 86% which is very high compared to that of the state and the surrounding districts. The same cannot be said of the amount of money spent per pupil in the district. On average they spend about $22,000 dollars per student which is much higher than the money spent per student on average in the state which is only about $18,000.

So with all the money spent on the students, why is the graduation and drop out rate so high in this district when compared with the state. The percentage of students that dropped out in district 229 of Chicago is 5.5% which is quite high compared to the percentage of 2.7% in the state. The same can be said of the graduation rate. With only 73.8% of students graduating in the district, this is lower than that of the state.
